Gear List: Horseback/backpack hunt

One or two Medium size duffle bags(soft pack), with max. 50lbs total gear, not including rifle

Daypack---recommended Kuiu Pro 6000 or 7800 and we recommend previous experience with pack

Sleeping bag—light, compact, at least -10C bag, Kuiu 0 degree or taiga Morning Star (taigaworks.ca)

Air Mattress or bed roll—recommended NeoAir Klymit (klymit.com) etc., light and compactable

Hiking boots—worn in (requirement, don’t bring new boots on a mountain hunt!), waterproof recommended

Camp shoes—light, breathable, comfortable, contactable (crocks work well)

Raingear—very important to have high quality, we recommend Kuiu rain gear. Pants and jacket with hood. (Kuiu Yukon is gear is great)

Gloves (2 pair) and hats—Kuiu super down mitts recommended for glassing (personal preference) and later-season hunts (September and October hunts)

Hiking shirts and pants—comfortable, easy dry, quiet materials. Layering-- down, Marino wool etc. Late hunts should consider warmer layers. Comfort is key. (I use kuiu layering system)

Long underwear

Merino socks, hiking socks etc.

Camp clothing—light change of clothes for by campfire or evening.

Personal toiletries, medications etc.

Water bottle( nalgene) or water carrier/camelback etc.

Binoculars and bino bivy

Spotting scope and tripod

Camera, charger, batteries/battery bank.

Knife or Havalon (as preferred) w/ blades. And Leatherman or multi-tool

2 Headlamps, charged. Lighter, insect repellent, duct tape, sunscreen (August hunts).

Small First Aid Kid, with foot care items and small wound items.

Sited rifle w/ ammo or bow/arrows and customs documents for same
